Nintendo Wii. Okay, I know I’m late to the party. I know video games may seem antithetical to the road trip itself, BUT! The Wii is pretty f’n cool. It’s ability to bring people together in a social environment is clearly it’s greatest advantage. I remember in middle school and high school, guys would get together and watch each other play video games. It was such an isolated activity and one that could only be enjoyed together…if also in competition. The Wii, and games for other consoles like rock band, have the ability to be our generation’s board game. It can be the center of attention for a die hard user and the entertaining distraction for someone more casual. The cooperative play creates real humor and social opportunities on a human level that make it a pretty unique piece of technology. kudos to the Wii and Rock Band.
