Shocking news today that Heath Ledger, who is set to appear as the Joker in The Dark Knight later this year, has died in an apparent suicide.

This is totally unexpected- from a professional standpoint Ledger was at the prime of his life. He received acclaimed reviews for his role of Ennis in Brokeback Mountain, and anticipation for his take on the Joker is astronomical. He was really shaping up to be a major movie star with a career to be proud of. A lot of people are going to be shocked by this.

A strange twist- he was found in the apartment of one of the Olsen Twins.

One thing’s for sure, it’s going to make seeing the The Dark Knight this summer a lot more interesting.
