You’ll know you’re watching a good episode of Battlestar Galactica when you’re standing and screaming at the screen, jaw halfway to the floor, incredulous that anything so unbelievable could be put on television.

Finally- the Battlestar Galactica premiere debuted last Friday and it blew my fucking socks off. I don’t want to potentially spoil anything, so I’ll just say that Galactica just reestablished itself as the most pertinent and well crafted scifi of our time. It’s very gratifying to see the series really embrace what science fiction is all about: helping us confront and understand the issues that matter to us as human beings. No lasers, no technobabble, just honest to god Humanity… I’ll tell you right now, it’s only shit like this that makes being a geek a tolerable.
